Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Lead Teacher is responsible for implementing an early childhood education program for a group of students (ages 1-5 years old) that meet the standards of Magnolia Kids Academy.  The Lead Teacher addresses all areas of development and meets the individual needs of each child.  In partnership with parents, the Lead Teacher observes and assesses children’s development, plans children’s curriculum based on age-appropriate guidelines, employs the learning environment as a “third teacher”, and implements and supervises developmentally appropriate learning activities.Responsibilities:Develop and implement a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum that promotes inquiry, exploration, and discoveryFoster a warm, nurturing, and safe learning environment that supports children's social, emotional, and cognitive developmentPlan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that meet the diverse needs and interests of childrenObserve and document children's learning and progress, and use this information to plan future experiencesBuild strong relationships with families and maintain open communication about children's learning and developmentSupervise and mentor assistant teachers and provide ongoing support and professional developmentQualifications:Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldAt least 3 years of experience working in a classroom or similar environmentFamiliarity with the Reggio Emilia approach and committed to child-centered, play-based learningExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and familiesCreative, flexible, and adaptableStrong organizational and planning skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all timesAbility to lift and carry children and objects up to 25 pounds, as neededWorking Conditions: This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday, typically 8 hour shifts. The Lead Teacher will work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
