Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryKids in Motion Academy is seeking a nurturing and dependable Lead Teacher for our Toddler One classroom (ages 12 – 18 months). This full-time role is ideal for an experienced early childhood professional who understands the developmental needs of young toddlers and can create a calm, engaging, and structured environment. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, supporting social-emotional growth, and partnering with families to ensure a smooth and loving daily experience for each child.DutiesLead the daily classroom routine for children ages 12–18 monthsImplement age-appropriate lessons and sensory-based activitiesSupport social-emotional development through nurturing interactionsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environmentSupervise and guide assistant teachers in the classroomCommunicate with parents daily through BrightwheelEnsure proper diapering, feeding, and hygiene practicesObserve and document developmental milestonesFollow licensing regulations, center policies, and health/safety proceduresRequirementsMust be 18 years or olderCDA in Infant/Toddler Care or higher (TCC, Associate’s, or Bachelor's preferred)Minimum 1 year of experience working with children under 2 years old in a licensed child care settingMust pass a DECAL fingerprint background check and health screeningCPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain before start date)Strong understanding of toddler development and positive behavior guidanceAbility to lift 30–40 lbs, sit on the floor, and engage in active playReliable, professional, and committed to maintaining a safe, loving classroomComfortable using Brightwheel or willing to learnNice To HavesAssociate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldExperience leading a toddler classroom independentlyFamiliarity with Brightwheel or similar classroom management/parent communication toolsKnowledge of Quality Rated standards and GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards)Bilingual (Spanish, French, or ASL)Training in Conscious Discipline, Love and Logic, or similar positive guidance approachesExperience working in inclusive classrooms or with children with developmental delaysBenefitsSupportive, family-oriented team environmentPaid professional development and training daysHoliday pay (after 90-day probation)Sick time and unpaid personal daysDiscounted child care (where available)Classroom curriculum and supplies providedOpportunities for growth and advancementStaff appreciation events and team-building activitiesParticipation in Quality Rated improvement programAbout UsAt Kids in Motion, our goal is to provide them with a well-equipped and ready environment to become lifelong learners who respect themselves, others, and their environment.
