This will include cross-collaboration with program leaders for youth hockey adult hockey figure skating and in-venue events to maximize efficiency and customer communication.This role pays an hourly rate of $22.00Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matching.This position will remain open until December 31 2025.About the VenueThe One Valley Foundationserves as the philanthropic arm of our organizations commitment to our Foundations goal is to have all money raised remain in our Valley serving all 9 cities. We aim to create greater opportunity and impact across the Coachella Valley through a variety of programs and legacy events focused on our three core pillars of Education Community and Access to Hockey.ResponsibilitiesEstablish the Berger Foundation Iceplex as the predominant ice facility in the Coachella Valley through excellent customer service.Assist the Business Operations Manager with staff scheduling.Support the Business Operations Manager with traning new Welcome Center Specialist.Support the Business Operations Manager with operational duties as needed.Provides efficient gracious and professional guest service and look for opportunities to enhance the guest experience.Front desk responsibilitieschecking-in program participantsconduct point of sale transactions concessions skate rentals skate sharpening drop-in activities and program registrationwelcome the public provide venue information and directionsProfessionally and accurately execute policies and proceduresIntake and outtake of skate and equipment rentals for the publicHelp with sizing lacing & cleaning skates upon returnSupport birthday party schedules set-up and executionCommunicate clearly and professionally with guests and staffExecute policies and procedures professionally and accuratelyAccurately handle register transactionsProcess transactions for purchases and rentalsDaily cleaning tasks within the departmentSupport in-rink concessions pizza popcorn snacks and drinks service & salesAttend all required training sessions and staff meetingsMaintain a clean and safe facilityResponsible for alerting managers to any unsafe or potentially hazardous ice conditionsQualificationsRequirements:Must be at least 18 years of ageAt least 2 years supervising staffRecreation facility or other customer service front desk experienceCash & sales transaction managementLeague facility schedule managementStrong verbal communication skills with the ability to present and communicate with customersA high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization firstExcellent communicatorPreferred Experience & Qualifications:Experience with youth sports at the recreational and elite levelUnderstanding of event and on-ice programming2-3 years work experience at an ice facility or other related sports complexExperience with sports scheduling software (preferably DAYSMART)Working Conditions:Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends nights and holidays requiredPosition is performed throughout a recreational facility. Work will be done on and around the ice. Position involves sitting standing walking stooping lifting carrying pushing pulling and ice skatingFrequent bending lifting 15-20 pounds sitting exposure to multiple external elements extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairsPart-time hourly roleStrengthened by our Differences.
