CS 452: Introduction to Computer SecurityPosition: Lecturer - Academic YearSemester:Spring 2026Day/Time:Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.Modality:In-PersonCollege: College of Science Technology Engineering and MathematicsDepartment: Computer Science & EngineeringThe Department of Computer Science & Engineering at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Spring 2026 to teach CS 452: Introduction to Computer SecurityCourse DescriptionIntroduces students to the principles of computer security with emphasis on applied encryption software/system security and web security. Subjects such as encryption algorithm access control authentication buffer overflow SQL injection and cross-site scripting attack will be covered. Both theoretical and practical knowledge will be provided to enhanceunderstanding ofcomputer security issues.Minimum qualifications:A masters degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related fieldsPer the California State Universitys Out-of-State Employment Policy the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.
