CYBR 472: Artificial Intelligence for Cybersecurity (Extended Learning)Position:Instructional Faculty Special Programs -For CreditSemester: Spring 2026Day/Time: Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.Modality: Online synchronousCollege: College of Science Technology Engineering & MathematicsDepartment: Computer Science and Engineering BS Cyber through Extended LearningThe Department of Computer Science & Engineering at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for the Bachelor of Cybersecurity program to teach CYBR 472: Artificial Intelligence for Cybersecurity. This 16-week course will be taught online-synchronously from 1/20-5/8/26 on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-6:45pm.Course Description:Covers a broad introduction to the key ideas of artificial intelligence that are used in the cybersecurity domain. Introduces the basics of artificial intelligence algorithms methods and tools for malware detection vulnerability detection and emerging threat and skills to futuresecurity professionals to understand artificial intelligence and develop better cybersecurity solutions utilizingstate-of-the-art artificial intelligence models.Enrollment Restrictions: Enrollment is restricted to students in the Cybersecurity major.Minimum qualifications:A bachelors degree and experience teaching or equivalent practical experience in Cybersecurity using a variety of technologies and toolsCommunication and presentation skillsCourse Design (can design a well-structured syllabus and select appropriate course materials)Continuous Learning and Adaptability (commitment to staying update with latest techniques and developments).Per the California State Universitys Out-of-State Employment Policy the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.
