PH 202: INTRODUCTION TO HEALTH SYSTEMS AND POLICYPosition: LecturerSemester: Spring 2026Day/Time:Mondays 9:20AM - 12:10PMModality:In-personCollege: CEHHS - College of Education Health and Human ServicesDepartment: Public HealthThe Department of Public Healthat California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Spring 2026 to teach PH 202: Introduction to Health Systems and Policy.Course DescriptionThis course serves as an introduction to the United States (U.S.) health system and its connection to public health and health policy. It emphasizes the structure and function of the U.S. health system and how it impacts population health. It discusses the social determinants of health and how health policy can advance health equity. Provides a broad overview of the many actors in the public health system including community members and organizations hospital and healthcare systems and government agencies.Minimum qualifications:A Master of Public Health (MPH) or Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH)Relevant experience working with college-level students or teaching in an institution of higher learning.Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with core faculty and colleagues on an ethnically and culturally diverse campus is required.Per the California State Universitys Out-of-State Employment Policy the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.
