The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our financial operations, ensuring the accurate and efficient management of billing processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a strong background in legal billing and a deep understanding of the Aderant system. Responsibilities: As a Legal Biller, your primary responsibilities will include: 1. Managing the complete cycle of client billing, from invoice generation to payment collection, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 2. Coordinating with attorneys and legal staff to address billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide detailed explanations of billing items when necessary. 3. Utilizing the Aderant system to input data, track billable hours, generate reports, and maintain client billing records. 4. Collaborating with the finance team to develop and implement efficient billing procedures and practices. 5. Monitoring account balances and handling past due accounts, coordinating with the collections team when necessary. 6. Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of client billing guidelines and ensuring compliance. 7. Assisting with financial audits by providing billing records and supporting documentation. 8. Identifying opportunities for process improvement and making recommendations to enhance billing efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need: 1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal billing role, preferably within a law firm. 2. Proficiency in Aderant or a similar legal billing system is a must. 3. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. 4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex billing information to non-financial individuals. 6. A high level of professionalism and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. 7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. 8. The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 9. Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is a plus. 10.
