OverviewThe faculty will be responsible for student instruction, student advising, educational leadership, and mentoring in Graphic Design. The focus of this position is in classroom and studio instruction. Teach full load (15 credits/semester) primary areas of teaching may include, but not be limited to, graphic design foundation courses, studio courses, and web design courses. For additional information, click here.QualificationsEDUCATION Master's Degree Fine Arts (MFA), Master of Graphic Design (MGD), Master of Design (M.Des), or equivalent terminal degree, or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, or Web/Interactive Design, or a related discipline, and minimum of six years’ full-time professional experience in Graphic Design and Web/Interactive Design. RequiredEXPERIENCE Significant course work or experience in Graphic Design. Required Proficiency in contemporary design tools, technologies, and software. Required Professional Experience in behavioral, UX, UI, and human-centered design. Preferred Equivalency of two (2) years of full-time teaching experience at the college level. Preferred Professional leadership experience in graphic design and web/interactive design. PreferredABILITIES AND SKILLS Professional portfolio in graphic design and other commercial applications of art. Required Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form. Required Ability to work with a diverse student population. Required Developed organizational skills. Required Portfolio of student design work. Required Responsibilities Teach full load (15 credits/semester) in Graphic Design. Primary areas of teaching may include, but not be limited to, graphic design foundation courses, studio courses, and web design courses. Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate records on students. Write and update course syllabi. Assist with curriculum review, revision, and development. Engage in continuous professional development in art and in appropriate instructional methodologies. Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines. Assist Graphic Design students with individualized portfolio development. Contribute to the betterment of the College through School and department committee participation. Participate in outcomes assessment and program review.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Contribute to the betterment of the College through College-wide committee participate.Physical Standards and Special Job FeaturesNonePay TransparencyCommensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College’s Faculty Salary System.
