Job Details Kalispell MT Part Time Education/Work Experience Continuing EducationJob Description DEPARTMENT: Continuing EducationSTATUS: This is a temporary non-benefit eligible position and employment is determined on a course-by-course contract basis.PAY RANGE: Pay is determined by Continuing Education FLSA: ExemptESSENTIAL DUTIES:Conveys knowledge of the subject area in an effective manner for successful student learning outcomesMaintains and submits instructional records in accordance with requirementsMaintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policiesRemains current in practices trends and research related to areas of assignmentMaintains attendance records and submits completed rosters to the Continuing Education CenterMeets all assigned classes and makes alternative arrangements for the class when absence is unavoidableUses available equipment and materials to develop appropriate and effective teaching methods to facilitate student learningProvides quality customer service and works professionally and collaboratively with students staff public potential students and the College communityCreates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships. Fosters positive student and community relationsSubmits completed liability and evaluation forms as applicableWorks professionally with Continuing Education staff to aid in the educational processFollows policies and guidelines established in the Continuing Education Instructor HandbookPerforms other duties as assignedReports to the Director of Continuing EducationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:The Montana Board of Regents of Higher Education Policy 730 requires the following minimum qualifications for faculty in career and technical disciplines:Three years experience in the occupation to be taught ORAn equivalent number of years of postsecondary education in the career/technical field combined with work experience in the career/technical discipline ANDTeaching competencyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors DegreeMasters DegreeCompetency in the use of computer and presentation softwareKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to effectively teach content material using a variety of instructional methods to facilitate student learningCompetency in the use of computer and presentation software and proficient computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office programsAbility and willingness to serve as a representative for the College by interacting appropriately with the communityDemonstrated skill in creating and managing a work climate of collaboration collegiality and teamworkAbility to provide quality service and create a welcoming and supportive environmentAbility to work with students colleagues and supervisor in a collaborative and professional mannerAbility to work within policies and procedures of FVCCAbility and willingness to serve as a representative for the College by interacting appropriately with the college community and communityAbility to maintain effective and positive professional relationships with staff students and publicAbility to follow and issue directionsSkill dedication and aptitude for working with studentDemonstrated communication presentation customer service and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgroundsAbility to meet all assigned classesAbility to maintain a high degree of confidentialityAbility to pass a criminal background checkAbility to respond in the event of an emergencyAbility to perform a Medium Duty job according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles U.S. Department of Labor and Industry.
