Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Master Plumber to support residential service, renovation, and new construction projects throughout South Central Pennsylvania. This role is a key member of our plumbing team, responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing solutions to residential and light commercial clients while upholding exceptional craftsmanship, code compliance, and customer service standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced plumbing professional with deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a customer-first mindset. This position requires the ability to work independently in service environments.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Residential Service & Light Commercial
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of residential and light commercial plumbing issues.
Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain plumbing fixtures and piping systems related to water supply, drainage, venting, and heating.
Complete service repairs as approved by clients, ensuring all work meets company standards, safety guidelines, and local/state plumbing codes.
Identify potential plumbing, safety, or related system issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Create, explain, and present accurate service estimates and repair options in a clear and professional manner.
Document all work performed, materials used, and recommendations in service tickets or work orders.
Operational & Professional Responsibilities
Maintain service vehicle inventory at designated levels and ensure tools, equipment, and parts are stocked, clean, and in good working condition.
Keep service vehicle clean, organized, and present a professional appearance.
Follow work orders, schedules, and instructions from supervisors or dispatchers.
Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations of work performed and answering questions professionally.
Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and local, state, and national plumbing codes.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
As JK Mechanical's Master Plumber, you are responsible for verifying the qualifications of apprentices and journeymen.
Qualifications & Licensing
Must hold a valid Master Plumber license that is reciprocal with Lancaster City.
Minimum 6+ years of progressive residential plumbing experience, including service, new construction, and renovation work.
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with a clean driving record.
Strong working knowledge of Pennsylvania plumbing codes and regulations.
Skills & Expertise Required for a Master Plumber
Advanced knowledge of residential plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods.
Expert-level troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
Strong understanding of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
Leadership and mentoring skills to support apprentices or junior plumbers when needed.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Strong time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple jobs efficiently.
High level of professionalism with a strong customer-service focus.
Ability to clearly explain technical plumbing concepts to non-technical clients.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks required for plumbing work.
Comfortable working in tight spaces, crawl spaces, and various indoor and outdoor environments.
Field-based position requiring travel to residential homes and light commercial sites.
May involve exposure to varying weather conditions and occasional after-hours or weekend service calls.
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
