Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: DOESWLA CENTER FOR HEALTH SERVICESJOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)DEPARTMENT: Behavioral HealthSUPERVISED BY: Behavioral Health DirectorSUMMARY: provide, oversee, and/or administer a wide range of psychosocialevaluations/assessments, diagnostic, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, resourcing,and case management services which require a high degree of independent decision making and program administration; record appropriate documentation of servicesincluding patient diagnosis and education, as well as in the electronic health record; initiating and implementing behavioral interventions; Work is performed in an officesetting.EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:1. Master's or Doctoral degree in the Mental Health Counseling Field;2. Possess and maintain Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor inLouisiana which must be unrestricted, current, complete, and active;3. Maintain CME/CEU requirements necessary for license renewal in Louisiana4. Minimum of one year experience requiredJob Responsibilities:1. Highly knowledgeable with DSM diagnosis and ICD coding2. Possess strong understanding of societies and their impact on mental health3. Ability to solve problems, monitor and examine patients4. Knowledgeable of community resources5. Highly knowledgeable with applying therapeutic orientations on a case by casebasis6. Ability to maintain a good working relationship with colleagues7. Ability to build and maintain rapport with clients and their supports8. Highly knowledgeable in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental,emotional, behavioral, and/or addictive disorders and in psychoeducationaltechniques aimed at the prevention of such disorders9. Consultation to individuals, couples, families, groups, and organizations10. Research into more effective therapeutic treatment modalities11. Cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and psychodynamic therapies12.Knowledge of principles and practices of health care planning and managementsufficient to manage, direct and coordinate the operation of a health careorganization13.Knowledge of the purposes, organization and policies of the communitys healthsystems sufficient to interact with other health care providers14.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers,employees, policy-making bodies, third-party payers, patients, caregivers, andthe public15.Skill in organizing work, making assignments, and achieving goals and objectives16.Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the clinic sufficient to direct itsoperations and to provide effective patient care17.Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a high-stress and fast-movingenvironment18.Ability to be culturally sensitive and effective when working with ethnically diversepopulations19.Ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority over assigned workfunctions20.Ability to establish and maintain quality control standards21.Ability to organize and integrate organizational priorities and deadlines22.Ability to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel23.Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate theminto existing practices24.Participate in problem-solving and implementation of plans for departmentalimprovement25.
