Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCriteria-based Job DescriptionTITLE: Therapist, Behavioral HealthRESPONSIBLE TO: Clinical SupervisorWORK AREA: Outpatient Sites and CommunitySUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Therapist's primary role, under the direction of the ClinicalSupervisor, is to utilize their specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills incounseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments, and preparation and delivery of treatmentplans for children, adolescent, and adult patients. The Behavioral Health Therapist willprovide therapy sessions for individuals, groups, and families.BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN CATEGORY I: Tasks with actual blood/body fluid exposure are notincluded in this position’s duties as the job requires therapeutic counseling only.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Day-To-Day Responsibilities Provide individual and group strengths-based therapy to children, adolescents,adults, and families. Establish clear goals and strategies for the welfare of the client and maintaindocumentation of services provided and client progress. Work with the client to develop an individual treatment plan according to OMHASand CARF person/family-centered standards, review and monitor services andactivities, documenting progress. Support the care team environment by working collaboratively with clients and theirfamilies as appropriate, physicians, nurse practitioners, case management, referralsources, and ancillary agencies. Provide client referrals to psychiatry/nurse practitioners, support groups, or othermental health professionals or agencies, and document services provided per thepolicies of PATH Behavioral Health, your professional licensing body, and state andfederal guidelines. Participate in care conferences and case reviews, and document and reportconcerns of abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities according to therequirements of state/federal law and your licensing body. Work professionally with referring providers or agencies, court systems,probation departments, foster care agencies, and the school system. Be committed and respectful of cultural diversity, religious and personalvalues, and traditions of clients and their families in alignment with the Path’smission.Day-To-Day Team Member Responsibilities: Willingly serve in a professional and collaborative capacity with all otheremployees of Path Behavioral Healthcare, fully understanding and complying withall organizational processes and policies. Collaborate with all supervisors and coworkers to communicate with transparencyand drive implementation of the organization's goals, objectives, and processes. Maintain an organized practice and schedule, be at work on time and ready towork, and leave work at the completion of client care responsibilities. Reduce client rescheduling by fully informing the appropriate person of necessarytime off work. Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA guidelines, confidentiality agreements, billingand coding guidelines, and company policy. Maintain a demeanor of positive professionalism and serve as a model forothers to exemplify the mission and vision of Path Behavioral Healthcare.Licensing/Continuing Education Maintains an active, unrestricted West Virginia license to provide clinical counselingservices. Attends all required continuing education opportunities per the regulations of yourlicensing body.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Candidate must have a Master's degree in Social Work or Clinical Counselingfrom an accredited university.Licensure: Candidates must possess one of the following licenses: LGSW, LCSW. (LGSW willrequire two years of supervision and second signatures on documentation)Physical Effort: This position requires the ability to work under stressful conditions and towork irregular hours. Requires sitting for extended periods of time, viewing computermonitors, and keyboarding.Communication Skills: Candidates must possess excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills in order to communicate professionally via telephone and in writing.Strong grammar and writing skills are crucial for clear and concise communication withclients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.Interpersonal Skills: The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to interact andassist in a friendly, compassionate, and professional manner with colleagues, providers,clients, and their families, as they represent both themselves and Path BehavioralHealthcare.Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Candidates must achieve competency in the ElectronicHealth Record (EHR) program, telemedicine services, and any additional software programsutilized by the company, ensuring efficient access and updating of client information. The rolerequires fine dexterity, adept handling, and proficient gripping abilities to perform varioustasks.Background: The candidate must pass all federal and state background checks, and theireducational and work history will be confirmed in compliance with company policies.
