DPOR is an executive branch agency under the Secretary of Labor for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our regulatory boards are comprised of practitioners and citizens appointed by the Governor and are responsible for regulating certain professions and occupations ranging from architects and contractors to cosmetologists and professional wrestlers. We protect the public by verifying minimum competency investigating complaints and upholding professional compliance with state laws and regulations.This position will serve as the Licensing Operations Administrator for the assigned boards within the Licensing and Regulatory Programs Division (LRPD) and will also serve as Executive Director and Regulatory Operations Administrator as necessary.*Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.*Working for the State affords you many benefits and here are just a few: Affordable and comprehensive health benefits 13 paid state holidays. Upon hire into this position the agency requires the incumbent to be in the position for 90 days before a specific telework schedule may be submitted for consideration.Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of administrative law regulations and the procedures associated with professional licensing; adjudication of licensing and disciplinary cases; and promulgation of regulations. Ability to interpret and implement law and regulation. Ability to direct the administrative activities of boards including the ability to manage and conduct meetings and studies. Knowledge of legislative process and ability to work with all parties involved. Ability to testify before committees subcommittees and commissions. Considerable knowledge of determining eligibility of applicants to participate in programs or to obtain licenses/certifications is preferred. Ability to work independently.
