Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:The Lifeguard III is a position that maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool with anywater depth or waterfront, deck, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmospherethat promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies andprocedures.Requirements:1. YMCA lifeguard or American Red Cross Lifeguard (deep water) certification2. Current ASHI BLS, Basic First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certification (or equivalentcourse from American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or National SafetyCouncil). Any BLS certification is only good for one year3. Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness4. Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards5. Maintain all required certifications and trainings6. Minimum age of 16. Guidelines must be followed in regards to lifeguards ages 16 and 17years of age working in the pool areaBACKGROUND CHECKS:An offer of employment is contingent upon receipt of satisfactory results to meet minimum requirements of the position. They may include criminal background and reference checks, E-Verify, drug test, driver’s license record, and/or a Child Protective Services Check (CPS). Additional driver’s license check, CPS, criminal background check, alcohol, and/or drug testing may be required to be processed in the future in order to meet and/or maintain the requirements of this position.
