As a Lifesharing Provider, you will support individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in developing life skills, integrating into the community, and experiencing inclusion as family members.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support for personal care, hygiene, meals, and household chores
- Assist with transportation to appointments, community activities, and outings
- Promote personal growth and independence via life skills coaching
- Encourage community inclusion, socialization, and recreational participation
- Monitor health and wellness, including medication adherence and reporting needs
- Maintain accurate records and meet documentation requirements
- Engage in training, supervision, and ongoing professional development
- Foster a home environment of respect, dignity, and safe boundaries
- A stable, safe home environment with appropriate living space
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Ability to complete background checks, health screenings, and home assessments
- Commitment to caregiving and providing consistent support
- Willingness to follow training and program protocols
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
- CPR / First Aid certification
- Ability to speak multiple languages (e.g., bilingual Spanish)
- Understanding of person centered planning and behavior support techniques
- Monthly stipend (amount varies by contract and region)
- Paid respite coverage
- Training, development, and continuing education support
- On call support network and crisis backup
- Assistance with home modifications and necessary supplies
