Position SummaryThe Newman Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Denver is currently seeking part-time lead lighting associates to assist with the execution of events at the Newman Center. Lead Lighting Associates are responsible for assisting the Production Coordinator- Lighting with preparation and execution of technical requirements for Newman Center events.This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1000 hours in a calendar year.Essential FunctionsSupport the Newman Center Lighting Production Coordinator with backstage event operations.Assist the Lighting Production Coordinator with preproduction and day-of-show tasks for large eventsServe as the lead lighting personnel when the Lighting Production Coordinator is not available for eventsKnowledge Skills and AbilitiesProvide excellent customer service for all Newman Center participants and patrons.Recognize and respond effectively and efficiently to emergencies.Maintain a clean and safe environment.Able to work both individually and as part of a team.Expertise in area of specificity and able to maintain all required certifications and licensures as they pertain to the role.Required QualificationsMinimum of 3 years experience working with theatrical/performance lighting systems lighting control consoles .Ability to read lighting paperwork e.g. lighting plots instrument schedules cut sheets etcAs required for specific roles needed on an event-by-event basis.Preferred Qualifications5 Years experience with theatrical/performance lighting systems lighting control consolesExperience with setting up and programming moving lights and lighting network (DMX)Work SchedulePart-time hours will vary based on event schedule.
