In our brand new, state of the art kitchen we do from-scratch cooking. And our Kitchens close at 8pm, so no late nights! One weekend day is required as well. What you'll do:Collaborate with the executive chef to review menus, recipes, and prep lists to determine type and quantities of menu items to be preparedPlan cooking schedule so that the finished product reaches the consumer at peak qualityCook and present food for residents, guests, and team membersFulfilling catering orders for events on campusImproving the fine dining experience of residentsPerform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor What you'll need:6+ months experience in food service operationsBe thoroughly familiar with foods and preparation methodsKnowledge of proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization in yield of meats and other foodsAbility to time cooking of vegetables so that their nutritional quality, flavor, and appearance are preservedAbility to accurately estimate quantities of food needed and yields from bulk foodsKnowledge of and an appreciation for principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipmentGrill, sauté, create sauces & soups, and meat & fish cooking experienceExperience preparing and serving meals in an appealing and appetizing mannerCompensation: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour, plus includes our comprehensive benefits package!Still curious about what Givens is all about?
