About the PositionAt Goodwin Living, our cooks provide a pleasurable dining experience for residents by preparing high quality food. They manage all aspects of food preparation and production in an environment that meets sanitation guidelines. Cook is primarily responsible for preparing, supplying, and supporting Culinary Operations, to include all venues, and special events, as well as holding and storing food items in accordance with standardized recipes, departmental procedures, and sanitary and safety guidelines.The pay is $21-$24/hr depending on experience.The shift is afternoon/eveningsDining Services at Goodwin Living Be surrounded by people who love what they do. Job DutiesAssisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen station.Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.Plating prepared foods based on the chef’s guidance.Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations Can execute salad bar and dessert stations, soups, sandwiches, sides—with minimum supervisionAble to support meal plan and carry-out fulfillmentCompetent in reading tickets for meal plan and carry-out ordersCan prepare healthcare cuisine: pureed and ground foods, with supervisionJob RequirementsHigh school degree or equivalent Able to work in a fast-paced environmentExperience as line cook in a fine-dining restaurantMust be able to read, write, measure, and follow instructions in English.Up to date SERV Safe Food Handler’s Sanitation Certificate preferred Two years or more of food service preparation experience required.Excellent communication skills preferred.Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with others.A sampling of our many benefits!We’ve got you covered with incredible benefits, whether you work full-time, part-time, or PRN (as needed).
