Saint John Vianny Theological Seminary is seeking a Line Cook specializing in desserts and breads to join our Kitchen team and provide quality food to our seminarians and retired priests—advancing the mission of Saint John Vianny Theological Seminary. This is a 9-month position, aligned with the academic calendar, with scheduled time off during the summer months.Why Join Us?Live Your Faith: Be part of a workplace where Catholic values are celebrated and integrated into daily life.Mission-Driven Work: Your contributions will have a lasting impact on our Church and community.Collaborative Culture: Join a supportive team committed to fostering human flourishing and proclaiming the Gospel.Key ResponsibilitiesMeal Preparation & Execution: Prepare daily meals, including meals for Prophet Elijah House, support kitchen staff for timely production, and collaborate on menu planning to optimize ingredient use and reduce waste; responsible for desserts and bread service.Inventory & Ordering: Support inventory control and ordering, receive and store deliveries using FIFO practices, and help maintain organized storage areas.Sanitation & Cleanliness: Ensure clean, organized workspaces in line with HACCP standards; support overall kitchen and dining cleanliness; and assist with deep cleaning during seminarian breaks.Requirements:What We’re Looking ForMust be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the church and eager to carry out the mission of Saint John Vianney Theological Seminary.Align with the values and mission of the Catholic Church in an Apostolic Age.Minimum of 3 years’ professional culinary experience required; kitchen leadership experience preferred.Proficient in diverse cooking techniques, protein fabrication, knife skills, and meal presentation.Knowledge of federal and local food safety regulations; ServSafe certification required or must be obtained upon hire.Knowledgeable in baking, sauces, soups, and proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; calm under pressure and team oriented.Flexible, self-motivated, and willing to support all aspects of kitchen operations, including events and cleaning.Willingness to flex time during holidays to assist in preparing meals for Prophet Elijah House; some after-hours work may be required.Great BenefitsComprehensive health, dental and vision coverage options Virtual Care Services with MyCatholicDoctor.comAlternative Care coverage options for Chiropractic/Acupuncture/Spiritual Care/Massage Therapy/Naturopathy.Natural Family Planning up to $500 per year for education, supplies, and materials.
