Job DescriptionAs Hawaii’s first Fresh Mexican Restaurant, Mekiko Cantina, our passion brings tastes of Mexico to our local and visiting guests. Mekiko Cantina is a 4th generation "start-up" Mexican Restaurant with a vision for growth.If you are excited about our mission and passionate about our values, we seek an experienced Line Cook for our Kapolei, Oahu (Ko Olina Resort) restaurant. The qualified applicant should have practice as a productive, organized, and caring line cook for our high-volume kitchen. You should be confident in maintaining enthusiastic teams. Preferably, you are a current Oahu or Hawaii resident and have 1 or more years of culinary experience. Competitive pay with tipping pool included. Desired Responsibilities:· Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities · Help in managing the team· Help to arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs and weekly/monthly deep cleans· Give prepared plates the “final touch”· Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers· Fluent in best practices food control, including daily temp checks and line checks for am/pm shifts· Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, cleanliness, and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.Skills· Proven working experience as a line cook· Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently· Capable of delegating multiple tasks· Communication and leadership skills· Keep up with cooking trends and best practices· Experience with traditional Mexican Food is helpful· Fun-loving, hard-working, and good-natured This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is:· Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous· People-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects· Adaptable/flexible -- enjoy doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction· Achievement-oriented -- enjoys taking on challenges, even if they might fail· High-stress tolerance -- thrives in a high-pressure environment Job Type: Full-timePay: Starting at $19-$23 tip poolingCOVID-19 considerations: Mekiko adheres to all local and State requirements pertaining to COVID-19 prevention.JB.0.00.LN
