Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:A Line Cook is responsible for preparing and serving food in a safe and efficient manner, while upholding our high brand standards and following provided specs. Line cooks are also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized environment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSanitation/OrganizationPutting away ordersDouble checking prep listFollowing proper safety and sanitation practicesMaintain an organized and clean workspaceClean dishesTake out trashSweep and mop floorsCheck temperatures on food and equipment to ensure food safety complianceClean hoods, gaskets, grills, ovens, cutting boards, and all other kitchen equipmentCulinaryPrepare food for servicePrepare tickets with a sense of urgencyWork well in a team to ensure food is fresh and served at the correct temperatureMemorize food builds for your assigned stationUse recipes when preparing food, alwaysATTITUDEPossess a sense of urgencyWorks well with othersEven tempered in high stress situationsQUALIFICATIONSMinimumPunctualAble to communicate with the teams primary languageComfortable working with a teamBasic math knowledge, particularly addition and subtractionAble to take constructive criticismAbility to read and follow instructionsGood verbal communication skillsComfortable with technology (POS systems, printers, KDS, etc.)Able to multitask and prioritize on the flyPreferredPrior experience in a restaurant jobCan speak English and SpanishFood handler's certificationAny local certifications that are required in the store's jurisdictionKnowledge of fundamental kitchen skills, including basic measurements, knife skills/safety, temperature management, sanitation, portion control, etc.Requirements:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAble to lift 25+ poundsAble to stand on their feet for 8 hours uninterruptedAble to be stationary for multiple hours at a time completing repetitive tasksAble to move quickly throughout the restaurantAble to access and navigate all areas of the restaurantAble to work in excessive heat and cold associated with the kitchen environmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAble to lift 25+ poundsAble to stand on their feet for 8 hours uninterruptedAble to be stationary for multiple hours at a time completing repetitive tasksAble to move quickly throughout the restaurantAble to access and navigate all areas of the restaurantAble to work in excessive heat and cold associated with the kitchen environment
