Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated culinary professional with a passion for food, strong time management skills, and the ability to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Our restaurant operates in a fast-paced environment, and we are looking for a Line Cook who can also assist with Prep, as necessary.The ideal candidate will be proficient in a variety of cooking methods, including poaching, braising, roasting, grilling, sautéing, and frying, while consistently adhering to our standard recipes and ensuring that meals meet guest expectations. In addition to cooking responsibilities, this role includes supporting the kitchen team with ingredient preparation and maintaining cleanliness and efficiency.We are looking for a reliable team player with excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a positive attitude. If you are eager to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment and grow within the food service industry, we encourage you to apply.Compensation:$17 - $19 hourlyResponsibilities:Guarantee that quality food is supplied, by adhering to specified storage and waste control requirements for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy productsDemonstrate professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with visitors, vendors, and associatesCook food orders at stations by following established recipes and presentation standards for grilling, broiling, and sautéing menu itemsSet up cooking stations and fill them with all of the essential preparation items for a shiftMaintain work stations, including all countertops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition per health and safety regulationsPrepare and portion meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other items per company recipes and standardsCook menu items (grilling, broiling, sautéing, etc.) and prepare sauces, garnishes, and accompanimentsSet up, stock, and maintain cooking stations for each shiftEnsure food is properly stored, meet waste control guidelines, and consistently uphold quality standardsKeep all work areas, counters, equipment, and refrigeration clean and sanitaryFollow established recipes and presentation standards for all menu itemsAssist with prep, dishwashing, or other kitchen duties as neededInteract with team members, vendors, and guests in a professional, positive mannerQualifications:Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storageWe prefer some experience working in the food service industryMust be a hard worker with high attention to detail and have a strong work ethicMeet all safety and sanitation requirements for kitchen equipment and food storageExperience in food service or food preparation preferredStrong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressureExcellent time management, organization, and teamwork skillsWilling to work weekends and holidays as neededValid Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain)Must meet minimum legal age requirementPhysical RequirementsStand for extended periods while preparing and cooking foodLift up to 25 lbs. as neededWork in hot or cold kitchen environmentsAbout CompanyUptown Blanco Arts & Entertainment, Ltd. is looking for new members to join our team who have a passion for what they do and strive to be exceptional, whether it's in the kitchen, offering hospitality in our special event venues, or in the retail store.
