Full-timeDescriptionMilwaukee Repertory Theater a LORT theater located in the heart of Wisconsins largest metropolitan area is currently seeking applicants for full-time Line/Sauté Cooks for the 2025/26 Season. These positions are available for immediate hiring. Interested applicants should apply promptly according to the directions below.Position Summary:As a Line Cook/Sauté in the Stackner Cabaret you will be responsible for the safe timely production and service of sautéed hot food preparation including but not limited to fish pork beef burgers sandwiches soups sauces stocks vegetables and side items. The Line Cook/Sauté position is responsible for the quality and freshness of food products as outlined by the Kitchen Manager.Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure all product is prepared properly and in a timely mannerMaintaining a clean work station through the course of your shiftComplete all daily tasks assignedComply with health and sanitation standardsTrain in other areas of the kitchen as neededOrganize put away and rotate orders as neededEnsure all food is prepared plated and served properlyEnsure station is properly stocked for each service prep lists and cleaning lists are followedWork as part of a team and uphold the standards of the organization at all timesGeneral cleaning and maintenance of work areasOther duties as assignedRequirementsQualificationsOne year of casual upscale or comparable line experiencePrevious experience working a high-volume Line Cook Sauté station in a casual to high end settingKnowledge of proper cooking techniques and temping of proteinsKnowledge of proper cooking technique for pastas and saucesKnowledge of basic cooking techniques basic knife skills weights and measurementsKnowledge of proper food sanitation and ability to obtain manager level food sanitation certificationGeneral knowledge and how to operate all kitchen equipment including stoves ovens and deep fryersMust be able to read and follow recipesAbility to stand for a minimum of 6 hours and lift between 20-50 lbs. unassistedMust have strong communication skillsMust be able to work well under pressure all while exhibiting grace and good humor under pressureDemonstrated ability to multi-taskComfortable taking direction and feedbackAbility to maintain good working relationships with a diverse group of staff membersMust be able to work independently and as part of a collective teamMust be available for weeknight and weekend workPhysical RequirementsThis position frequently lifts carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.Ability to stand for up to 6 hours at a time.ScheduleMust be available to work nights and weekends.Additional RequirementsA willingness to commit to the mission vision and values of the theaterSalary Description$15 per hour Key Skills Culinary Experience,Food Handling,Restaurant Experience,Food Preparation Experience,Kitchen Experience,Hotel Experience,Taleo,Cake Decorating,Cooking,Baking,Sanitation,Knife Skills Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
