Linguistic Expert – Traditional ChineseCantonese at Mercor

Mercor is hiring on behalf of a leading AI research lab to bring on a Linguistic Expert Traditional Chinese/Cantonese (Hong Kong). This is a part-time in-person opportunity (1020 hours per week) at one of the following offices: San Francisco New York Atlanta London or Singapore. Youll help improve AIs understanding of Cantonese by ensuring natural language generation that reflects local grammar tone and culture. Responsibilities Evaluate and refine AI-generated Cantonese text for fluency and accuracy. Offer feedback on grammar semantics tone and style. Create Cantonese-specific linguistic guidelines and best practices. Collaborate with AI teams to address challenges in Cantonese morphology and context. Suggest improvements to datasets and rule-based systems. Requirements Native-level proficiency in Cantonese (Hong Kong) and fluency in English. Strong understanding of Cantonese grammar semantics and pragmatics. Bachelors degree in Linguistics Translation or related field. Prior linguistic or annotation experience preferred.
