DescriptionWell-established law firm in the SW metro is looking to add an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney. This attorney will step into active cases and work directly with insurers and long-standing clients from day one, with the opportunity to build their own client relationships over time.The firm is seeking someone with at least 3-7+ years of insurance defense or other transferable defense-side litigation experience who wants to continue growing their practice. This is a partner-track role with a reasonable billable requirement and a clear path to building your own client base within a supportive, respected firm. A book of business is not required.Key ResponsibilitiesManage an active litigation caseload from intake through resolution and trialHandle all aspects of discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediations, and trialsEvaluate cases and develop litigation strategy in partnership with clients and carriersDraft pleadings, briefs, motions, and other litigation documentsConduct legal research and prepare substantive written work productCommunicate effectively with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and internal team membersRepresent clients in court for hearings, arbitrations, and trialsParticipate in settlement discussions and mediationRequirementsQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice in MinnesotaMinimum 3-7+ years of insurance defense experience or other relevant defense‑side litigation experienceTrial experience (first‑chair or second‑chair)Strong litigation skills, including depositions, motion practice, and courtroom advocacyAbility to manage a full caseload independentlyExcellent writing, analytical, and communication skillsClient‑focused with strong professional judgmentOrganized, detail‑oriented, and able to work collaboratively within a teamBenefits: 401k (with match)Profit sharingHealthHSA/FSALife InsurancePTOJob typePerm
