This role is a primary resource for faculty and students needing assistance with the Canvas LMS and is critical in ensuring all course materials meet ADA compliance standards (WCAG UDL). The specialist collaborates with faculty to implement and troubleshoot instructional technologies including support for embedded supplemental instruction tools contributing directly to student success and an equitable learning environment.Essential Job Functions and Performance IndicatorsThe intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Employees may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.Job Responsibilities and ExecutionSupports faculty staff and students using educational technology; troubleshoots common problems aligned with established policies and proceduresAssists in the evaluation and remediation of digital learning materials according to established guidelines and specifications (e.g. WCAG standards)Provides a range of training and support services for the Universitys supported educational technologies including supplemental instructional tools to support student success in Gateway coursesAssists in the evaluation selection implementation and maintenance of new tools and methodologies to support teaching and learningMaintains comprehensive up to date and detailed documentationCreates curated media including print digital audio video and animation at the direction and request of the Learning Design Team and Lindenwood Learning AcademyAchieves annual measurable individual improvement goals of acquiring or refining skills and/or obtaining increased knowledge in job-related areasService ExcellenceSupports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellenceModels supports and holds others accountable to the Universitys valuesProfessionally evaluates and respectfully delivers educational programs; offers academic support as neededPromotes the university by participating in relevant professional organizations and eventsProvides exemplary customer services to faculty and instructorsCommunication Teamwork and CollaborationPartners with the Director of Faculty Development and the Manager of Learning Design to select and implement educational technologyAssists faculty and instructors in meaningful use of technology in teaching and learning according to current institutional policies and proceduresSupports a culture of continuous professional improvement and the attainment and assessment of institutional program and course learning outcomesSeeks opportunities to exchange and integrate innovative ideasJob may require other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications An equivalent combination of education training and experience will be considered.
