Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Basic Description: The Commercial Loan Assistant supports the Commercial Lending Department by assisting loan officers in the processing, documentation, and servicing of commercial loans. This position ensures the efficient and accurate preparation of loan files and provides administrative support throughout the loan lifecycle, while maintaining high levels of confidentiality and customer service.Responsibilities:Assist commercial loan officers with the collection and review of loan documentation, financial statements, and credit information.Prepare loan documents and coordinate loan closings in collaboration with loan officers and legal counsel.Input and update loan data in the bank's systems with a high degree of accuracy.Monitor loan files for completeness and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.Track and follow up on missing or expired documentation (e.g., insurance certificates, UCC filings, tax returns).Assist with customer inquiries regarding loan status, payments, and other general account questions.Maintain organized digital and physical loan files in accordance with bank retention standards.Support loan officers with correspondence, scheduling, and administrative tasks.Perform post-closing reviews and ensure proper booking of loans.Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless loan servicing and reporting.Requirements:Qualifications & Skills:High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.Basic knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate and consumer loan processing, tracking and documentation. Basic math skills; calculating interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.Knowledge of loan documentation and regulatory requirements.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and loan processing systems.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.May require extended hours during peak periods or deadlines.
