HealthTrust Workforce Solutions Regional is seeking a local contract nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a local contract nursing job in Chattanooga, Tennessee.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: PCU - Progressive Care UnitDiscipline: RNStart Date: 01/12/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: Local ContractUnit Specifics:·         Number of Beds: 29·         Type of equipment:  Welch Allyn dynamaps, Phillips telemetry, Phillips MP2, Pyxis, Alaris pumps, Hill-Rom beds, iMobile devices, MobiLab·         Documentation system: Meditech·         Scheduling requirements: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.  Self-scheduling (within reason to allow balanced staffing).  May request days off as needed prior to schedule closing.  Schedule will be finalized 2 weeks in advance.  Can accommodate block scheduling for night shift.·         Floating policy: Travel RNs float first.  We rotate floating, and the oldest float date will float first. ·         Patient Experience requirements:  We have a heavy cardiac patient population, and the CV surgery patients come to PCU when they leave our ICU.  We perform Q6H head-to-toe assessments and chart each one fully.  We do the usual PCU gtts – Dopamine, Dobutrex, Nitro, Heparin, Cardizem, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Cardene, Labetolol, Insulin, and we also titrate Precedex. Hospital Specifics-·         Certifications:  BLS and ACLS required. Requested Skill Set: Cardiac/telemetry experience, and PCU and/or critical care experience. The PCU delivers highly individualized care to medical, cardiac, and surgical complex patients requiring intermediate care such as: Sepsis, stroke, myocardial infarction, angina, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, heart blocks, post cardiac catheterization, AKI, CKD, diabetes mellitus with ketoacidosis, CVA, acute and chronic respiratory failure, GI bleed, pneumonia, post-operative day one coronary artery bypass grafting, post-operative day one aortic valve surgery, post thoracic surgery, post neurosurgery, as well as other complex patients. Advanced skills needed: IV insertion, chest tube management, DHT insertion/management, tracheostomy experience, CVC management, EKG, Foley management, early patient mobility Procedures performed on unit: Foley placement, IV insertion, wound vac management, DKA management, EKGs, DHT/NG placement, patient ambulation, ADLsCertifications Required: BLS and ACLS
