Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY: 1st Shift - 6a-430pm M-THThe Core Inspector properly identifies and inventories every incoming core item playing a critical role in accurately supplying customers with the correct core. This is accomplished by visually inspecting parts for key identifiers or physical characteristics. The Core Inspector determines pieces that have non-salvageable qualities and records that information into the SRCL ReClaim inventory system in order to satisfactorily fulfill the Customer’s order.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Identify each part per customer specifications for each dealer using part numbers, markings, and physical characteristicsRecord all inspection data including, but not limited to weight, piece type, deductions, quantities, part numbers, dealer numbers and codesAnalyze each part for damage and defects and record the informationInventory incoming items by quantity by counting each partDiscard non-salvageable items per customer specificationsInspect engines for oil and rotationAssist with other duties as assignedWORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed mostly in an uncontrolled atmosphere; will be exposed to conditions such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures. This employee will be required to demonstrate continued knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. Standing 90%, Walking/sitting 10%.
