JOB DESCRIPTION
Logistics Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Specialist to support daily operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating logistics activities, ensuring timely material flow, and supporting cross-functional teams to maintain operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling, documentation, and tracking.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and stock reconciliation.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions.
- Support logistics planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate with carriers and vendors to resolve delivery issues and optimize transportation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Essential Skills
- Experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory, and customer service.
- Proficiency in data entry, shipping and receiving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and warehouse management.
- Knowledge of freight and inventory control.
- Experience with cycle counts and logistics in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
- 13 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office/manufacturing environment with multiple scheduling options: M-F 7-4, 7:30-4:30, or a 2nd shift from 3-1AM. The role requires being comfortable walking around the warehouse and the ability to lift about 30-40 lbs. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.48 - $23.48/hr.
