Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Logistics Specialist is responsible for the movement and management of the organizations inventory and goods.Manages transportation planning and schedulingManages storage of goods at off-site locationsDetermine most efficient and cost-effective method of freight movementAnalyze and optimize logistical proceduresExecute logistics plan to move products to appropriate destinationsReview freight rates and other transportation costs to ensure cost management practicesEnsure timely pick-up and delivery of shipmentsAddress and resolve shipment and inventory issuesLiaising between customers, sales, and manufacturing facilitiesAnalyze data to access performance, discover logistical problems and devise plans for improvement.Negotiate contractsPlanning and negotiating technical difficultiesJob QualificationsBachelors degree in business or related field or 3 years of experience in a similar roleBackground in rail systems, operations, and pricingExperience with a traffic management system (TMS) such as CarrierPointKnowledge of federal and state regulations on motor carriers and drivers hours of service (HOS)Knowledge of general requirements of insurance and claims processes for motor carriersHighly skilled in Microsoft OfficeDemonstrated knowledge of logistics functions and best practicesExcellent record-keeping skillsProven project management skillsStrong knowledge of communications practices, tools, and techniquesAdvanced proficiency with data analysisBehavioral ProfileProactive and positive approach to safetyCreates and maintains positive relationshipsAble to manage multiple projects and activitiesHigh sense of urgencyWillingness to learn and growThoroughness and attention to detailEvidence of self-structureHigh ego-strength and emotional intelligenceStrong communication, people skills, and a sense of professionalismBenefitsSome of the benefits our team members enjoy include the following:Healthcare -Legacy Health & Wellness and Legacy PharmacyWellness ProgramFlexible Spending AccountAdditional InsurancePaid Time OffRetirement Chaplaincy ServicesEducationAbout RoyOMartinAt RoyOMartin, people are our number-one asset.
