The Emergency Shelter Youth Specialists position is essential in providing structure to ensure that all youth residents are safe. This position is an important part of TCYS program team which is responsible for cultivating an environment that is inclusive and welcoming for all youth.General ResponsibilitiesKnowledge and compliance with all LFC agency policies and procedures and privacy practicesKnowledge and compliance with all TCYS program policies and procedures including the Child Caring Institution (CCI) Licensing RulesCommitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and promotion of an environment that is welcoming to allEyes-on supervision of all emergency shelter residents within the guidelines of shelter rules and expectationsComplete face-to-face initial intake and inventory on all youth eligible for shelter entryProvide crisis intervention in the event of a crisis or emergency situation while on shiftAttend to minor medical needs of sheltered youthAdminister prescribed and over the counter medications as prescribedTimely and open communication with 24/7 line and TCYS Program Director of significant information, unusual occurrences or general concerns regarding residents, staff, or the facilityPlan and supervise Positive Youth Development (PYD) educational and recreational activitiesAdhere to all fire and safety regulationsTransport clients to appointments and outings when necessaryAssist TCYS Program Director to maintain grocery inventory and creating weekly meal menusMaintain general cleanliness and safety of TCYS facilities while on shiftParticipation in staff and supervision meetingsCompletion of training requirementsParticipation in community collaboration and workgroups as appropriateParticipation in agency outreach and fundraiser activitiesMaintain general cleanliness, organization, and safety of facilitiesAdditional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary by the Program Director, Executive Director, and/or Board of DirectorsData ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate and proficient daily activity logsAssist with completing and compiling 90-, 180-, and 365-day follow-up interviewsAssist with compiling youth pre and post survey responses; share program improvement suggestions based on data compilationMaintain accurate and proficient maintenance and safety logsQualificationsThe Emergency Shelter Youth Specialist will be committed to promoting an inclusive work environment and positive team contribution. The preferred candidate will have:High school diploma or equivalentMust be willing to work the midnight shift 12:00am-8:00am including weekends as neededExperience working with youth and families is preferredValid drivers license and car insuranceSuccessful completion of all required criminal checks and health screeningsCPR/First Aid Certification (agency may provide reimbursement for completion)Willing to work independently and as a member of a teamBenefits and CompensationThe Emergency Shelter Youth Specialist is part-time, non-exempt position. LFC offers self-care/sick time and paid staff development opportunities. The starting pay rate is $15.00 per hour with a $2.00 per hour premium pay for the 12:00am-8:00am shift.
