Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLV/MV Switchgear Electrical Validation TechnicianPicture your day in our New Stanton, PA facility: you arrive at your test bay, review the latest engineering package, and set up AC dielectric gear alongside AC/DC power supplies. You connect leads to a refurbished medium-voltage breaker, verify every point-to-point wire against the schematic, and capture readings on an oscilloscope and multimeter. A quick check-in with the Assistant Area Manager, Mechanical Product, helps prioritize the queue. Throughout the shift, you assemble hardware, torque fasteners, and document results that confirm the safety and performance of our low- and medium-voltage switchgear.What you’ll doRun electrical and mechanical verification on LV/MV switchgear, subcomponents, and cell-level assemblies.Operate a range of instruments: AC dielectric testers (Hi-Pot), AC/DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, current sources, and electronic loads.Interpret drawings, schematics, codes, manuals, blueprints, and procedures; record test data in the specified formats with accuracy.Follow engineering documentation to configure equipment and wiring for testing new builds and refurbishments, including LV/MV breaker testing.Install components, wiring, units, and casings using rivets, bolts, and connectors; perform both electrical wiring/assembly and mechanical assembly.Plan, lay out, assemble, or fabricate mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic equipment as directed.Communicate straightforward findings, status updates, and issues clearly to the team.How you’ll growYou’ll begin under close supervision in a structured training status.
