Machine Operator at Aerotek
JOB DESCRIPTION
Machine Operator
The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining the efficiency of assigned machines to meet departmental and company goals. This includes performing first articles on color and resin changes, coordinating with the Quality Control department on production activities, and utilizing the MATTEC production reporting system to control and improve processes.
Responsibilities:
- Make adjustments and maintain the bottle operation of the conveying, flaming, robotic, and inspection systems on any IBM machine.
- Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
- Continuously improve the efficiency of the IBM production department by enhancing existing processes.
- Work with the supervisor to direct activities of utilities and packers assigned to the group leader.
- Take complete ownership of assigned machines and lines.
- Contribute to team efforts.
- Support and adhere to all safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in machine operation and inspection.
- Strong production documentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to manage about 6 lines and complete work orders.
- Ability to inspect products, keep track of production, and communicate with the production team.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to lift occasionally between 10-50 lbs.
- Capability to carry approximately 50 lbs. for a distance of 100 ft twice a day on average.
- Ability to push/pull a 1000 lb. mold into position on a machine table.

Work Environment:
The work environment is a manufacturing floor with shifts on D Shift: Monday 8:15am to 8:15pm, Tuesday 3:30pm to 12am, Wednesday & Thursday 11:45pm to 8:15am, and Sunday 7:15am to 4:15pm. Safety glasses, ear protection, and hair nets are required. Expect the smell of burning plastic.
Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cranbury, NJ.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
