Machine Operator

Kelly Services is hiring a Machine Operator to support Signode, a global leader in transit-packaging solutions, in Douglasville, GA (30134). This is a 3-month contract-to-hire opportunity.

Pay: $18.25/hr Schedule: 2nd shift (3:00 PM 11:00 PM, MondayFriday) Location: Douglasville, GA 30134 Contract: 3 months (contract-to-hire)

Summary of Role

The Machine Operator works in a team environment to set up and operate production machinery to meet customer specifications. The role is responsible for quality, efficiency, and waste management on the production line, reporting to the Production Supervisor or assigned Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust machine components based on customer orders or work order specifications
• Operate machines to produce product according to customer requirements
• Monitor machine operation, gauges, meters, and controls to ensure safety and quality
• Identify and respond quickly to equipment malfunctions
• Periodically check product quality using measuring tape, calipers, and gauges
• Complete documentation related to waste, downtime, maintenance, and efficiency
• Record any issues related to products or processes
• Maintain a clean work area following the 6S process
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• 612 months of related experience, including use of small hand tools and simple machine controls
• Strong listening, organizational planning, and time management skills
• Ability to work safely, follow procedures, and be a team player
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt on the job

Additional Information

• Steel-toed boots required
• Other PPE will be provided on site as needed
