Machine Operator Trainee at Aerotek
JOB DESCRIPTION
Machine Operator Trainee
As a machine operator trainee, you will begin your journey by handling products for sanitation using a pallet jack. This comprehensive 12-18 month training program will equip you with the skills to operate sanitation equipment effectively. Your role will involve everything from loading materials into the machine to setting up and troubleshooting the equipment by the end of the training period.
Responsibilities:
- Transport products to machines using a forklift (electric) and pallet jack.
- Follow specific instructions for loading and unloading products onto and from conveyor systems.
- Handle lifting tasks ranging from 20-50 lbs per bag consistently throughout the day.
- Ensure products are stacked correctly in totes and on pallets as per instructions.
- Utilize downtime efficiently for cleaning, organizing, or taking breaks if the warehouse is in order.
Essential Skills:
- Machine operation and production knowledge.
- Experience in manufacturing and material handling.
- Forklift certification and the ability to lift 55+ pounds consistently.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is beneficial.
- Experience with palletizing and basic computer knowledge for data entry is advantageous.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and experience using an electric sit-down forklift.

Work Environment:
Join a dedicated team working in a clean facility in Schaumburg. The site is heated but not air-conditioned, offering a spacious environment despite its relatively smaller size. Work overnight shifts from 9 pm to 9 am on a 12-hour schedule, including weekends, alongside a team of four on each side of the machine to efficiently manage product loading and offloading.

This is a contract to hire position based out of Schaumburg, IL.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
