Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:This position is currently filled, however we are accepting applications for Ready Replacement Pool consideration.Prevailance is seeking an experienced and mission-focused professional to support the Surface Warfare Engineering Schools Command (SWESC) and PMS 339 Specialized Engineering as a Machinery Repairman Contractor Instructor. This role provides critical services in instruction, curriculum updates and maintenance, testing, remediation, administration, safety, and management for formalized naval training. The position supports SWESC and PMS 339 at the Engineering Learning Site (ELS) Norfolk, VA, delivering high-quality technical and military training to enlisted personnel from the U.S. and allied navies.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:Prepare classrooms, workstations, and labs, ensuring proper setup of equipment and availability of instructional materials before instructionPerform operational checks on training equipment, devices, and aidsIdentify and report deficiencies in training equipment, devices, and instructional aids, including maintenance issues, with written recommendations to the Training Authority (TA) and Contracting Officer Representative (COR)Maintain inventory of instructional materials and student forms required for specific coursesSubmit formal reports documenting material discrepancies that impact course deliverySupport upgrades and improvements to instructional programs as neededRequirements:Instructor Qualifications:Graduate of the Navy Instructor Training Course (CIN: A-012-0077) (NEC 9502) OR an equivalent instructor training courseMinimum of three (3) years of technical experience in the subject matter areaMinimum of two (2) years of experience in a military training environmentComprehensive knowledge of learning principles, course content delivery, testing, remediation, curriculum, training aids, and equipment associated with the courseTechnical Qualifications:Former Senior (E5–E9) Surface Ship Machinery Repairman (MR)Extensive knowledge of safety, operation, and maintenance of heavy machinery tooling, shipboard precision grinding, and advanced milling tools/techniquesQualified to teach the following NETC courses (MR Pipeline): A-702-0022 Precision GrindingA-702-0023 Heavy Machinery OperatorA-702-0024 Advanced MillingEducation:High school diploma or equivalentClearance:Ability to obtain a favorable background investigationIf you meet these qualifications and are ready to make an impact, we encourage you to apply today!Prevailance, Inc. proudly supports veterans as a member of the V3 (Virginia Values Veterans) program and the Hire Vets initiative.
