POSITION: Technician Manual Machinist (Aviation)Status: Non-ExemptLocation: Auburn WashingtonDepartment: Machine ShopSchedule: Monday-Friday 5:55AM-2:30PM (40 hours/week) subject to overtimeSUMMARY:This position is primarily responsible for machining aircraft parts using approved technical data. The position requires a reliable self-motivated machinist that ability to read/write/understand the English language following directions and work in various teamwork settings.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Machining aircraft parts using approved technical data.Work overtime and holidays on short notice.Follow customers special instructions and requirements.Follow all company procedures and policies.Follow all safety and security policies and regulations.Back up department functions cross-train in other departments and perform other duties as assignedReport to work on a regular and consistent basis.REQUIRED ABILITY TO: Read and understand component maintenance/overhaul manuals.Use continual process improvement to streamline jobs.Hold tolerance as close as /- .0005.Set-up and operate manual/conventional machines along with the basic use of ALL machine shop precision tools and bore gages.Be a reliable self-starter.Have own tools common to machining practicesDemonstrate the use of common hand toolsDemonstrate the use of balance machines micrometers dial calipers and pressure gaugesDemonstrate good verbal and written communication skills in EnglishBuild alliances partnerships and collaborate with co-workers in a tactful professional and respectful manner.
