Machinist III
Job Description- 1st Shift
As a Machinist III, you will operate manual machinery to support production and repair of various compressor and engine parts. You will maintain safe work practices while assisting the Service Shop team. You will also be responsible for the safety of operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting the wastewater system daily. This role involves performing all aspects of sampling, testing, and monitoring wastewater to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing the wastewater treatment process.
Responsibilities
- Machine parts to specifications using tools such as manual lathes and milling machines.
- Understand and operate the wastewater recycle treatment system according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform and document various tests required to complete the wastewater treatment process daily.
- Ensure the work area is clean and free of safety hazards in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Monitor meters and gauges daily, record findings on daily worksheets, and accurately complete any required paperwork.
- Perform dimensional layout on all machined parts to confirm conformity to prints and other routing instructions.
- Load and touch off tooling applicable to the program.
- Identify multiple surface finishes and deburr and stamp parts to specifications.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, jaw attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process and ensure the machine operates properly.
- Maintain a clean work area, including emptying waste containers, sweeping chips, and replacing broken pallets.
- Read job cards and determine products to be produced, instructions, specifications, actual machining time, and quantities.
- Adjust machine offsets as necessary.
- Observe all PPE and safety rules, including machining guards and proper lifting techniques.
- Operate all manual machine tools as required.
- Use advanced trade mathematics, complicated drawings, and precision measuring instruments.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school or institution.
- 0-2 years of experience in manual machining, lathe, and mill experience in oil & gas, power, or heavy equipment.
- Hands-on experience with wastewater treatment.
- Completion of RCRA and HAZWOPER training.
- Understanding of wastewater regulation and environmental impact in oil and gas.
- Advanced knowledge of precision measuring tools such as dial, ID mics, depth mics, and ball mics.
- Physically able to lift at least 40 pounds and perform labor-intensive tasks.
- Ability to adapt to evolving work requirements in a team environment.
- Certification to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and crane.
- Vo Tech Certificate.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of oilfield assemblies and parts.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to read and understand instructions, quality control, and safety.
- Familiarity with various types of manual metal cutting machinery.
- Ability to read, evaluate, and respond to product specifications and drawings.

The job is located in a manufacturing, production, and refurbishing facility with a focus on overhauls and troubleshooting. The facility has 20 employees, with 12 based in the McPherson, KS location. The role involves working in a hands-on, physical environment, requiring adherence to safety standards and proper use of PPE.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $72800.00/yr. 401K PTO Medical Vision Dental
