Machinist Weekday Day Shift Bothell at PCC Talent Acquisition Portal

The Machinist position operates assigned resources of machining tools and equipment ensuring safety of operations compliance with quality control standards with productivity targets. The Machinist position continually trouble-shoots and problem-solves production processes to ensure product meets or exceeds all manufacturing set-up and cycle times.Shift:Week Days: Monday-Thursday (5am - 3:30pm)Reporting Relationships:TheMachinistwill report to the Operations Manager.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Understand adhere and demonstrate the companys commitment to safety and qualityMaintain regular and punctual attendance according to shift times or a pre-arranged work scheduleWith minimal or no supervision run multiple types of machinesWith minimal or no supervision complete complex setups and production for machine cells and standalone CNC millsAdvanced proficiency with multiple machine and control typesLoad and adjust CNC programs and offsetsUse more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques such as height and air gauges and bench inspectionApply advanced blueprint and GD&T reading to production inspection processesWith minimal or no supervision edit programs and write simple programs to make toolingVerify program is stable and part is within tolerance for runVerify all set-up documentation is correct and adequate for part runComplete MIP sheet for first partEnsure correct work orders programs and documents are being used for current operationHelp trouble-shoot production problemsDuring times when not assigned a set-up or performing production or as assigned by supervisor; spot check parts and deburr finished productMaintain a clean and organized work areaClean the machine at the end of each shift; organize all parts and tools for the job for the next shiftPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience; experience in a heavy manufacturing environment preferredKnowledge skill and ability to meet expectations for required competencies including: 1) safety health and environmental awareness 2) business ethics and compliance 3) technical/professional competence and quality/time management 4) interpersonal relations and communication skills 5) initiative flexibility innovation and adaptability 6) continuous improvement and problem solving and 7) planning and organizingProficient at reading and understanding M and G codeAbility to read precision measuring instrumentsAbility to read shop production blueprintsMechanical aptitude and strong attention to detailAbility to follow directions during production and follow all safety protocolsBasic understanding of machine set-upMachine shop experience and/or on the job trainingSelf-motivated with an ability to work alone or in a team environmentAbility to work across departments to meet product quality standards efficientlyAbility to follow instructions given by the operations manager lead or senior machinist and carry them out correctlyAbility to interpret instructions given and apply experience and training throughout the course of the day for each production job assignedAbility to read and comprehend basic instructions and write simple correspondenceAbility to read and interpret the English languageWillingness to learn and as required help and/or train othersPhysical Activities Required to Perform Responsibilities:Ability to: stand continually walk regularly sit continually hear/listen carefully regularly climb and/or balance infrequently stoop kneel crouch or crawl occasionally twist occasionally at the trunk or neck bend occasionally reach with hands and arms regularly taste and/ use sense of smell infrequently use hands to manipulate handle and/or feel in the act of performing the required responsibilities of the position.Must be able to: lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly.Visual acuity needed for close detail work clarity with distance distinction with color peripheral observation up and down/left and right depth perception for distance and spatial relationships sharp focus of objects brought into line of sight.Mental dexterity needed to work independently while demonstrating attention to detail and continuous awareness.
