Machinst at Manpower
JOB DESCRIPTION
Machinist Fresno, CA $20.00$30.00/hr (DOE)
If you're a machinist who thrives on precision, complexity, and getting parts right the first time, this role has your name on it. We're seeking an experienced machinist who can set up and run a variety of machines, interpret any blueprint, and produce components that meet tight tolerance requirements every time. This job calls for a confident machinist who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and staying sharp in a high-skill environment.
In this position, you'll set up and operate engine lathes, vertical turret lathes (VTL), mills, and radial drill presses, with or without DRO or computer-assisted tools. You'll work across multiple machining cells, applying your versatility as a seasoned machinist and supporting efficient workflow wherever your skill makes the biggest impact. You'll plan machining sequences, select tooling, and execute cuts that consistently meet tight tolerance specifications while contributing to ongoing improvements and team success.
You'll read and interpret detailed blueprint drawings, sketches, and specifications to produce parts that meet exact requirements. A strong machinist here can machine to tight tolerance, inspect their own work, and identify or correct issues before they reach inspection. You'll maintain cutting tools, drills, taps, and grinding equipment, while keeping machines in reliable working order. Your ability to analyze a blueprint, verify dimensions, and troubleshoot machining challenges is essential to delivering consistent quality.
Collaboration plays an important role as you communicate with engineers, supervisors, and fellow machinists to support workflow, solve technical challenges, and maintain quality standards. You'll document labor hours, measurements, and production data accurately while keeping your work area clean and safe. A committed machinist handles each part with a balance of skill, pride, and professionalism, and you'll mentor less experienced teammates when needed.
To succeed in this position, you'll need 35 years of experience as a machinist, the ability to interpret complex blueprint requirements, and solid knowledge of machining principles, metal properties, and inspection methods. You should be able to work independently, manage multiple machine types, and maintain strong attention to detail. A commitment to safety, continuous learning, and dependability are essential qualities for this machining environment.
This is an hourly, non-exempt position offering $20.00$30.00/hr depending on experience and machinist level. If you're a skilled machinist who wants to produce meaningful work in a stable, well-run environment, apply today.
