DescriptionMarket Range: 03Hiring Range: $18.00/HourlyJOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Maintenance Helper moves University office furniture non-sensitive lab equipment non- sensitive health care equipment and other equipment or supplies as needed by university staff faculty or students. This position is classified as an Essential Services Employee. Essential Services Employees maintain business operations for UT Health Science Center support the physical operations and safety of campus. This role involves performing various operations and services essential to maintain critical infrastructure and ensuring continuous operations.ResponsibilitiesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Moves and transports office furniture laboratory equipment health care equipment and other equipment or supplies.Drives UT vehicle to various locations in the process of transferring or storing University property equipment or supplies.Assists in the relocation of surplus property.Sets up arranges or takes down equipment for special events.Assists in cleanup of construction sites.Removes snow ice and debris during inclement weather from parking garages sidewalks and other areas.Performs other duties as required.QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months satisfactory work performance in a moving company or experience in related area. Must have a valid Drivers License.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to operate a standard shift truck.Good oral communication skills.Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.Ability to perform physical labor outside and inside for extended periods.
