Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance III - 2nd Class Engineer to join our team, specifically focused on working with seniors. The ideal candidate will maintain and enhance the value of the apartment community, in a timely, professional and courteous manner. The candidate must be an experienced HVAC Certified and be able to operate, maintain, repair, including but not limited to the following: boilers (high and low pressure), chillers, pumps, electric motors, water softeners, electric generators, hot water generators, air compressors, refrigerated air driers, etc. in order to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility. This person is also responsible for performing other engineering duties, as well as maintenance duties, including but not limited to, cleaning, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.Providence Community Housing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit affordable housing developer and property manager serving the Greater New Orleans area. With almost 20 years of development experience and over 1,700 residential units developed to date, Providence has taken over the property management functions of Christopher Homes, Inc. and is proud to add their 60-year history of excellence to our team managing over 2,400 senior affordable apartments. We focus on the production and preservation of affordable housing and empowering strong communities.A typical day in the life of a Maintenance III - 2nd Class Engineer working with seniors involves overseeing both resident apartments and property maintenance needs. Every day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact on both residents and staff, creating a safe, welcoming environment for seniors to call home.We're looking for a candidate who:Has a passion for working with seniors and creating a positive, supportive environmentIs organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasksDemonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skillsIs comfortable using computers and property management softwareIs reliable, adaptable, and ready to handle occasional on-call responsibilitiesThis is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call responsibilities for emergencies. While most of your workdays will be during regular business hours, there may be times when you'll need to respond to urgent situations outside of these hours to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.
