Maintenance Lead at Aerotek
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Maintenance Lead
Pay: $36-$46 hr
Shift: 1st
Job Description
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for the reliability, uptime, and safe operation of all production equipment and facility systems at a busy manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that requires broad proficiency across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, along with the ability to guide maintenance activities, prioritize work orders, and build a strong preventive maintenance culture. You will work extensively with CNC and fabrication equipment, ensuring that critical machinery operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day maintenance activities for production equipment and facility systems, ensuring high reliability, maximum uptime, and safe operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on a wide range of industrial equipment.
- Perform maintenance on CNC and fabrication equipment, including punch presses, laser cutters, press brakes, welding systems, and material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues on brake presses, including Amada press brakes and other CNC machines, to minimize downtime.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance schedules and programs for all critical equipment.
- Prioritize work orders based on production needs, safety considerations, and equipment condition to keep operations running smoothly.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and guidance to maintenance technicians, acting as a senior resource for complex problems.
- Monitor equipment performance and reliability trends, and recommend improvements to processes, parts, or maintenance practices.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards and best practices, including proper use of PPE and safe work procedures.
- Support facility maintenance tasks as needed to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Minimum of 1 year in a lead or senior maintenance technician role with responsibility for guiding others.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Hands-on experience with repair and maintenance of industrial equipment and motors.
- Proficiency in maintaining and repairing CNC machines and fabrication equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules and programs.
- Experience with maintenance supervision, including prioritizing work orders and coordinating tasks.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment and consistently use required PPE.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- CNC and fabrication maintenance experience, including punch presses, laser cutters, press brakes, welding systems, and material handling equipment, is preferred.
- Experience working with brake presses and Amada press brakes is highly beneficial.
- Background in facility maintenance, including support of building systems and production infrastructure.
- Proven track record of building or contributing to a preventive maintenance culture.
- Comfort working as a go-to resource when machines are down and taking ownership to keep them running.
Why Work Here?
This opportunity offers genuine ownership over equipment reliability and the chance to build a preventive maintenance culture from the ground up. You will have the credibility to influence how maintenance is planned and executed, and you will be recognized as the person others rely on when critical machinery must stay up and running. The environment values practical expertise, initiative, and a proactive mindset, giving you room to shape processes, improve performance, and make a visible impact on production operations.
Work Environment
The role is based in a non-climate-controlled industrial facility that requires consistent use of appropriate PPE. You will work directly on CNC fabrication equipment, including punch presses, laser cutters, press brakes, welding systems, and material handling equipment, as well as other production and facility systems. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with regular exposure to typical manufacturing conditions such as noise and moving machinery, and it requires adherence to all safety protocols and protective equipment guidelines.
