What Will Your Job Look LikeThe Manager Maintenance oversees and maintains an effective fleet maintenance program to ensure that fleet vehicles are maintained in an effective and safety conscious manner. The Manager Maintenance will be able to perform duties in a timely manner and advise higher-level manager of any potential issues that could affect the overall performance and longevity of the fleet.This position is contingent upon the award of contract.Location: Springfield MAWhat youll do:Responsible for maintenance service diagnosing and minor repair of MTM Transit service vehiclesPlans and schedules workloads based on preventative maintenance tasks utilizing budget and personnel as defined by General ManagerDevelop vehicle tracking and fleet maintenance portfolio to ensure cost effective means of maintaining fleetEnsure vehicle documentation (i.e. registration insurance etc.) is current and kept in vehicle as requiredTrack and report weekly all maintenance issues and potential risks to General ManagerReview driver history to ensure safe driving practices and identify any potential safety issues to General ManagerTrain drivers and maintenance staff on correct pre-trip and post-trip inspections procedures to include completing DVIRsReview DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports) for accurateness and address any issues annotatedEstablish a network of local repair vendors to utilize for services to ensure the most cost effective means of repair and servicingEnsure OSHA DOT and FTA complianceEnsure shop or facility is clean and kept in a professional working mannerReport any spills falls incidents to Manager as requiredWhat youll need: Experience Education & Certifications:Bachelors Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field3 years of automotive mechanical management experience requiredPrevious management experience in fleet maintenance areaThorough knowledge of ADA DOT FTA regulationsSupervising hourly personnel experienceMust possess a valid current drivers licenseSkills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem solving skillsAbility to understand and administer disciplineKnowledge of basic safety and training proceduresGood organizational skills with attention to timeliness and detailsAbility to work flexible hours as requiredAbility to maintain high level of confidentialityRegular attendance is requiredEven better if you have...Previous management experience in a union environment preferredExperience with hands-on training preferredExperience in a fleet size of 100-115 vehicles preferredWhats in it for you: Health and Life Insurance PlansDental and Vision Plans401(k) with a company matchPaid Time Off and Holiday PayMaternity/Paternity LeaveCasual Dress EnvironmentTuition ReimbursementMTM Perks Discount Program Leadership Mentoring Opportunities Minium Salary: $90720/annuallyMaximum Salary: $130000/annuallyThis information reflects the base salary pay range for this job based on current national market data.
