We are proud to serve Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia with the expertise of 4700 team members and nearly 500 affiliated physicians.Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the Facilities Supervisor assists in general maintenance functions of the hospital.As our Maintenance Mechanic you will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and day you will troubleshoot inspect and maintain a wide range of machinery and building systems executing preventative maintenance responding to repair requests and ensuring safe and efficient operation.To be successful you will demonstrate strong technical skills meticulous attention to detail in diagnostics and repair and the ability to work independently to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.Completes assigned work orders and/or PMs in a timely manner or informs supervisor of any problems accomplishing a task.Immediately identifies and informs the supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment.Achieves to reduce maintenance and utility costs through improved operational procedures.Helps to maintain a clean safe and organized work area.Maintains a professional attitude toward patients visitors and staff at all times.Varies work schedule or shift to meet the department staffing needs.Works overtime only with approval or when requested by the Supervisor.Schedules all vacation and personal holidays with prior supervisory approval.The job summary and responsibilities listed above are designed to indicate the general nature of the work performed within this job.
