If you have already applied there is no need to reapplyATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS ONLY!The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region Highways & Aviation is looking for a Maintenance Specialist Electrician Journey 2/Lead in Soldotna to help us Keep Alaska Moving!What you will be doing:The main purpose of this position will be to maintain and inspect State of Alaska Department of Transportation owned electrical infrastructure and contribute to overall operational mission regarding maintaining safe roadways airports and pedestrian/bike routes. This includes maintaining installing and repairing various electrical components (traffic signals airfield lighting etc).Our organization mission and culture:DOT&PFs mission is to Keep Alaska Moving. The Soldotna shop is made up of 9 operators who work cooperatively to operate and maintain State highways and roads. The competency specification for this job class is available at Required InformationAt time of interview applicants are requested to submit (if not already attached to your application):Three (3) professional references including name job title and current contact information.A copy of your current Electricians License.A copy of your current Commercial Drivers License with endorsements (if obtained).JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIANS LICENSE REQUIREDAll applicants are required to have a Journeyman Electricians license with the State of Alaska to be hired into the above position. A conditional hire approval can be given for those applicants who are licensed in a state who has entered areciprocal agreement with the State of Alaska.An applicant qualifying under this option may receive a job offer conditional upon successfully obtaining an Electricians license with the State of Alaska within90 days and may begin work onlyAFTER obtaining and showing proof of the license.COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIREDThis position requires the incumbent to possess a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) per federal regulations (49 CFR 383) to register with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol TestingClearinghouse prior to performing safety sensitive duties and to provide consent to the Employer to review driver information in accordance with 49 CFR 382.A Class A Alaska Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is required for this position. A conditional hire approval can be given to applicants that do not yet possess a Class A CDL. This means that the proposed appointee must successfully obtain a Class A CDL within180 days of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION & PUBLIC FACILITIES DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICYSelected candidates must comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures and CANNOTstart work in a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) position until Management Services or designee has received confirmation of the proposed appointee passing the required Pre-Employment drug test.
