Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMaintenance Superintendent – Sawmill OperationsWe're looking for an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to lead all maintenance activities in our sawmill operation. This role is critical to keeping production running smoothly, safely, and efficiently by overseeing equipment, managing a skilled maintenance team, and driving preventive maintenance programs.If you're a hands-on leader with strong mechanical knowledge and proven experience in industrial maintenance, we want to hear from you.What You'll DoLead and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring safe and efficient completion of daily tasks.Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules to keep sawmill equipment running reliably.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.Plan and oversee major projects, equipment upgrades, and capital improvements.Ensure all work follows safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.Manage budgets, inventory, and vendor relationships to control costs and minimize downtime.Track maintenance KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.What We're Looking For7+ years of maintenance management experience (5+ years in a leadership role preferred).Background in sawmill, wood products, or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred.Strong knowledge of sawmill machinery (saws, conveyors, planers, log processors, etc.).Leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and motivate a team.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance management systems.Why Join Us?Competitive pay and benefits package.Leadership role with impact on safety, productivity, and team growth.Opportunities to implement new technologies and drive improvements.A supportive, safety-first culture.Physical & Work RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an open environment with noise, heat, and varying conditions.Comfortable with bending, stooping, crawling, and occasional ladder/stair climbing.Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when urgent issues arise.
