Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description
This 1st shift Maintenance Supervisor role oversees mechanical and electrical maintenance for high-speed food production equipment in a GMP manufacturing facility. The position focuses on troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of packaging and production machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on food production equipment to minimize downtime and maintain consistent output.
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production runs to quickly restore operations.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs of production equipment during machine service windows.
- Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs, ensuring equipment is ready and properly configured.
- Use mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair packaging and production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documentation, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose equipment problems, replace or repair parts, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments to restore optimal performance.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
- Carry out a variety of plumbing maintenance and basic electrical functions as needed to support plant operations.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment safely and effectively while performing duties.
- Identify and report faulty operations, defective materials, and any unusual situations to appropriate supervision.
- Comply with all safety regulations, procedures, and guidelines while maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or needed to support maintenance and production goals.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a high-speed production environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience on industrial or production equipment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience performing preventive maintenance on production machinery.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Hands-on experience with pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with welding for equipment repair or fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Strong diagnostic skills to identify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Ability to work safely in a food manufacturing environment and follow all safety regulations.
- High School Diploma or GED.

- Experience working with high-speed food production or packaging equipment.
- Experience from GMP-compliant manufacturing environments.
- Ability to perform basic plumbing maintenance and electrical functions in a plant setting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to detect faulty operations and defective materials.
- Capability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
- Solid communication skills to coordinate with production and supervision on maintenance needs.

Work Environment
The role is based in a GMP food manufacturing facility that produces custom meat products for major food brands. The position operates on 1st shift, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work in production and plant areas that include refrigerated environments maintained at approximately 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit. The facility uses high-speed production and packaging equipment, and you will regularly work with hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. The work environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and strict adherence to safety and food manufacturing standards.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00/yr.
