Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLocation: Baton Rouge, LASchedule: Mon–Fri, 3:30pm-1:30am (2nd Shift)Salary: $81,000 per year (depending on experience)Job OverviewA well-established company in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a highly skilled and dependable Maintenance Supervisor to lead a second-shift maintenance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical expertise, excellent leadership ability, and hands-on troubleshooting experience. This role ensures equipment reliability, maintains a safe work environment, and supports smooth plant operations by overseeing technicians during second shift.ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team OversightSupervise, direct, and mentor maintenance technicians on second shift.Assign, prioritize, and verify completion of daily maintenance tasks.Provide training, technical support, and guidance to the maintenance team.Communicate effectively with production departments, safety personnel, and management.Enforce company policies, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures.Assist in planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance activities.Maintain accurate documentation of work orders, shift reports, and equipment status.Technical Maintenance DutiesTroubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including gearboxes, servos, conveyors, motors, and complex equipment.Install and remove motors, gearboxes, servos, and related components.Diagnose mechanical issues with bearings, sprockets, and power transmission systems.Read and interpret electrical schematics and perform electrical troubleshooting under Arc Flash safety protocols.Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters for system evaluation and repair.Apply strong problem-solving skills to address mechanical and electrical challenges.Lead the team in identifying root causes, implementing solutions, and preventing future breakdowns.Guide technicians in using manuals, tools, and resources for proper troubleshooting.Qualifications3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (supervisor or lead tech experience preferred)Millwright experience requiredStrong mechanical aptitude and proven troubleshooting skillsAbility to explain and demonstrate technical knowledge clearlyAbility to provide strong professional referencesUnderstanding of bearings, sprockets, mechanical systems, and power transmissionExperience reading electrical schematics and practicing Arc Flash safety proceduresPrior plant or industrial environment experience preferredStrong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skillsSelf-starter with the ability to supervise a team and work independently on second shiftPhysical RequirementsLift up to 50 lbs regularlyStand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periodsClimb ladders and work at heights when requiredUse hand tools and diagnostic equipment safely and accuratelyWork in heat, noise, and industrial environments while wearing required PPEIf you're ready to lead a skilled maintenance team and take the next step in your career with a well-established company, we encourage you to apply today.
